Lighting a shell scheme stand should be simple, shouldn’t it? And whilst it is, there are a few factors you need to consider…
How big is your stand?
If you have a 3m x 2m stand or smaller, you aren’t going to need a huge amount of lighting, as your space will not require it. Usually, the lighting in the room plus one or two 1m track with 3 spots or 5ft fluorescent strip lights would be sufficient. If you have a stand that is 6m x 3m for instance, then you will, of course, need more as you have a bigger space to cover.
Track lighting
Track lighting is great for pin spotting specific areas of your stand. The spotlights on the track are adjustable and allow you to highlight any area. Most exhibitors choose for these lights to be at the front of their stand, as it lights up that area, making them stand out and more visible to passers-by.
Fluorescent strip lights
Fluorescent strip lights are for giving the stand a wash of light over the whole area. If you don’t need to pin spot any of your displays then this would be the best option for you.
Long arm spotlights
Long arm spotlights as usually used when you want to highlight one specific area. For instance, if you have any literature on a pop-up or graphics on your foamex panels, long arm spotlights are the best option. They are specifically for the chosen area, giving it maximum impact.
You can, of course, have more than just one sort of lighting on your stand too. You may want a fluorescent strip light and long arm spotlights to brighten up your whole stand and highlight specific areas.
