Community Rail
The Assoication of Community Rail Partnerships (ACoRP) is an organisation that provides support to groups of people who bring their community together through their local railway. Currently their are around 60 community groups from across Britain who are utilising their railway and stations by delivering activities such as gardening and art projects. They also work with train operators to help them understand the railway needs of the local community.
In October 2019, the 15th National Community Rail Awards were held at The International Centre in Telford. Around 450 people attended the event. The guests included volunteers, industry leaders, and government representatives.
There were a massive 210 entries into the variety of categories for the awards show, a number that continues to grow each year.
