Themes for Christmas Parties
As Andy Williams said, Christmas is the ‘most wonderful time of the year’. With all of its traditional festivities as well as the decorations, food, gift giving and of course the parties, how could it not be?
With the festive season all most upon us, one way to make it even more magical is to incorporate a theme into your Christmas party.
There are so many themes to pick from for your Christmas party, it can be overwhelming. Themes that the guests can get fully involved with are always a great idea. Having a theme where everyone can get dressed up to fit in with the décor, for instance the roaring twenties theme is very popular, as it allows guests to experience an era they more than likely weren’t a part of it the first time round and they get the chance to dress up in what isn’t your average day to day outfit.
If dressing up isn’t your style, your Christmas party could have a theme that allows you to get involved without the addition of a matching outfit. We have helped create many themed Christmas parties where the guests haven’t had to dress up and have still had a fantastic time. For instance last Christmas we hosted a Circus themed Christmas party. The room was decorated accordingly with a circus ring as the dancefloor, swags to create the circus tent ceiling effect, a photo booth area with peep through boards and other circus themed props, with the main attraction being the entertainment, a circus classic aerial artist.
Entertainment is also a great way to theme your Christmas party. If décor and fancy dress doesn’t work for you, why not base your Christmas party theme around some great entertainment? This could be anything from comedians, magicians, singers, dancers or acrobats and every other entertainment act in between. One theme that can be minimalistic yet still gets everyone involved is a casino night. You could have a choice of casino tables for everyone to play, with a prize for whoever has the most amount of chips left at the end of the evening. This is a simple classic theme yet still very effective.
Like any event it’s the little things that go a long way. So to make your themed Christmas party one to remember, don’t forget the little details such as table centres, and props. If you are doing a white Christmas theme, cover the floor in fake snow or if that seems to messy, use Audio Visual equipment to give the effect that it is snowing. For the table centres you could have giant snowflakes, miniature Christmas trees or nativity scenes. All of these extra details add to the whole experience and give your themed party the finishing touches to make it unforgettable.
